Teaching Blog Addict: Retelling Fairy Tales!

Teaching Blog Addict: Retelling Fairy Tales!: Stop by my blog to check out how we practiced retelling skills!

Will be adding to this shortly

Our 5 Senses

Our Class will begin the week with an introduction to their 5 senses.  I love this unit because there is so much to it.
Today the children began investigating their 3 of their 5 senses.  They investigated Hearing, Seeing and Feeling.  The goal of these three investigations was to pay attention to each sense individually.  The children were excited to work on both and the out come of each station was wonderful!

HearingThe students will be listening to a CD with different sounds and drawing/writing what sounds they hear.

TastingThe student will make have their taste buds exploding with different types of sauces to taste.  Which one will they like the best?

Can't wait for the class pictures of these!

Feeling: The students will put their hand in a box that they are unable to see what is on the inside and they will pick on of the objects inside to feel and draw.  Each student will draw that they are feeling and try to guess what that object is.  A big thank you to Mrs. Vincent for helping out with this station today!

Dear Families

I just found this great website that has a great description of what we have been learning in class.  Please take a few minutes to read from this blog.  There are also worksheets that you could print out from home to help practice with this concept.  Our class has been working on Silent E for a few weeks now but could always use a little practice at home.

Silent E Information and Worksheets too!!!!

Have fun!  If you have any questions please let me know!

New Years Resolutions from our Students

Happy New Year to All!

Happy Happy New Year to all!  Our Class had celebrated the New Year by writing our New Years Resolutions.  Wow did these turn out great!  Some of the kids ideas are going to be a little hard for them like...

... staying in bed until Mom and Dad wake up!
... cleaning up all my toys everyday!
... going to bed when it is bed time.

The kids have really tried to come up with an idea that they can stick to!  Lets see if they do!
