Book Cart Books

Book Cart Books are due back every Tuesday.

Book cart books are Just Right Reading Level Books that are chosen by your child and brought home to read for 1 week.

Each Tuesday a parent volunteer comes in and spends about 2 hours selecting students to come and self-select just right books.  These books are your childs reading level.  These books should be a little hard at first for your child but after reading the book 3 times or more then your child should breeze through the book.

Needless to say reading a book over and over again is great practice for your child.

Your child can read these books to their pets, to you, to grandparents, friends who come over.  This is a great opportunity to show off your child's reading ability!

Please take the time to read these books a few times with your child.  Return these books by Tuesday and your child will select another set!  If your finding they are to hard please let me know!

What is a QR Code?

What is a QR Code and how can it be used in my classroom?

A QR code is a Quick Response to anything that I would like.

All I need is a smart phone
A downloaded app that can scan QR Codes.
Access to the internet.

I would like to use a QR code in my classroom so we can...

1. Show off our reading ability.
2. Show off our work.
3. Read a story that was written by us.
4. Give directions.
5. Give spelling tests.
6. Visit a website.
7. Instruct
8. Plan
9. Document
10. Have fun!
